Doctrine
We believe that the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments were verbal and plenary inspired of God, resulting in a product by Spirit-controlled men, and therefore, inerrant and infallible in the original autographs. We believe that inspiration applied only to the original autographs. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)
We believe that God has fulfilled His promise to preserve His Word for every generation of human history, through copies and translations of those original autographs. (Psalm 12:6-7)
We believe the Bible to be the center of true Christian unity and the supreme standard of authority by which all human conduct, creed, and opinions shall be tried. (Psalms 33:11; 119:160)
We believe there is one and only one living and true God, an infinite, sovereign Spirit, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of Heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor, confidence and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. (Exodus 20:2-3; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Revelation 4:11).
We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and, in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become believers in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis l :27; Psalm 51:5; 2 Samuel 12:21-23; Romans 3: 10-18, 23 ; 5:12; James 1:14-15)
We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin, Mary, and is true God and true Man. (John 1:1, 2, 14; Philippians 2 :5-8; Luke 1:34, 35; Matthew 1:18; Hebrews 4:15)
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scripture as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all believing in Him are justified through His bloodshed. (Isaiah 53 :6; John 4:12 ; Hebrews 10:14, 17; Romans 10:9; Ephesians 1:7; Romans 5 :1, 18-19)
We believe that faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only condition of Salvation (Acts 16:31).
We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Intercessor. (Acts 1:3, 9-11; 2:32, Luke 24:2-6; Mark 16:6; Hebrews 4:14-15 ; Isaiah 53:12; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25; 1 Corinthians 5:4-8)
We believe in "that blessed hope," the personal pre-millennial and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. (Revelation 19:19-20; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 ; Matthew 24 & 25 ; Titus 2:13; Revelation 20 :1-6)
We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God. (Titus 3:5-6; Romans 8:9; Galatians 4:6; Ephesians 4:30 ; Hebrews 7:25; John 3:5-8; 10:28; Jude 24)
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting, conscious punishment of the lost. (1 Corinthians 15:50-59; 2 Thessalonians I :1-10; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 4 :13-18; John 11:25-26 ; Matthew 25 :41)
We believe in the spreading of the Gospel as Jesus said, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; Matthew 28: 16-20)
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with God the Father, God the Son, and of the same substance and nature; that in His relation to the unbelieving world He restrains the evil one until God’s purpose is fulfilled; that He convicts of sin, of righteousness and of judgment; that He bears witness to the truth; that He is the agent of the new birth, and that He seals, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps the believer, indwelling in every true child of God. The gifts of tongues and healing were sign-gifts, which God used until the scriptures were completed. These gifts ceased at that time. (John 14:16-17; Matthew 28:19; Hebrews 9:14; John 14:26; Luke 1:35; Genesis 1:1-3; John 16:8-11; Acts 5:30-32; John 3:5-6; Ephesians 1:13-14; Mark 1:8; John 1:33; Acts 11:16; Luke 24:48; Romans 8:14, 8:16, 8:26-27; Hebrews 2:4; I Corinthians 13:8; Romans 15:19)
We believe the church is an organism made up of visible, local churches, authorized by the Lord in conformity to His Word to carry out His Commission in independent, self-governing bodies of born again, baptized believers; that Jesus Christ our Lord is the only Head of the Church. The church is perpetuated to this day to observe the ordinances, to maintain order, to edify and encourage one another and to evangelize until the Lord returns. (Acts 14:27; I Tim. 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11; Heb. 10:25; Acts 2:41-42; I Cor. 11:2; Matt. 18:28-20; I Cor. 14:40; Eph. 4:16).
We believe that all the redeemed are kept by the power of God from the moment they first place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and receive the salvation of God. Our position in Christ, being sealed by the Holy Spirit, is untouchable, a never-ending security. (John 5:24, 10:27-30; Rom. 8:1, 5:1,9; Eph. 1:13).
We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, under the authority of the local church, to show forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, through Whom we died to sin, and rose to a new life; that baptism is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership. We believe that the Lord's Supper is the commemoration of His death until He come, and should be preceded always by solemn self-examination. We believe the Biblical order of the ordinances is baptism and the Lord's Supper, and that participants should be immersed believers (Acts 8:36,38-39; John 3:23; Romans 6:3-5; Matthew 3:16; Colossians 2:12; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-42).
